Nazifa Khatun

Hi, I'm Nazifa! I'm a Muslim illustrator based in Edinburgh and I love to work in pastel colours and digital collage. 

 

 

In my illustration practice, I love to share my faith with my audience. I specialise in editorial, picture books, comics, and narrative illustration. I value honesty and sincerity in the work that I produce and I like to explore the good parts and the struggles I experience as a Muslim. 

 

I work in digital and traditional methods, I mainly use Procreate, Photoshop, and InDesign for the digital aspects and finishing touches.  I use gouache, watercolour, and collage for my traditional methods.  I enjoy working with different mediums and styles. These days I'm interested in the Scandinavian and Montessori styles of illustration. This can be seen through my use of muted and pastel colour palettes and simple shapes and patterns.
